SPOILER ALERT! 10 sentences. Ok, maybe 11. The ENTIRE movie. I don’t know why critics were raving about this man’s performance (at least the reviews on the poster seemed amazing). After Gravity’s success, I was thinking this may be another movie in that direction. Yeah, not really. (If you don’t want a spoiler, don’t read further)/ Basically, this guy just kept getting screwed over in the sea. His boat broke, than a storm came, his life raft broke (he also set it on fire) and at the end, when you realize no one is coming for him, someone saves him. But the entire two hour movie, you’re wondering if he’s going to say something. There are no flashbacks. No other people – someone on a scanner and a few boats pass by. That’s it. Is this what entertainment is coming to? Did I miss something that would let me see this movie for the great actor that he was? I don’t think so but hey, all the more power to you if you like sitting in a theater in complete silence, where the movie is also in complete silence. The producers were probably high when they made this movie, and if they weren’t, well you gotta dream big, right?
